Infant Massage

**I am happy to announce that I will be organizing two infant massage instructor training courses in 2012. The course will be taught by Sylive Hetu, a certified trainer with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM). Each course will be four days and will incorporate theory and practical learning. The courses will run April 14-17 and August 27-30 in Vancouver at the Utopia Academy of Massage Therapy. The cost for this course is $600 per person.**

I am currently in the process of finishing my certification to be a certified infant massage instructor with the IAIM. Please check back for more information on classes in Kamloops.

Infant massage is a fun and beautiful way to bond with your baby. You will be taught a simple massage routine which incorporates Indian, Chinese and Swedish techniques into a full body massage for your baby.

Research has proven that regular massage performed with your infant has many benefits for both babies and parent:

Benefits for babies
• Increased growth
• Decreased irritability
• Improves quality and quantity of sleep
• Helps baby regulate stress hormones
• Helps with constipation
• Speeds neurological development

Benefits for parents
• Helps with symptoms of postpartum depression
• Increases bonding with baby
• If done as a family can help to increase bonding between parents as well as with baby
